The Frame:
This is it. The big decision. Many people find frame selection to be the most difficult part of their optical journey, so if this you, you are not alone. Luckily, these days we’re so lucky to be spoiled for choice when it comes to frames! Our job as optical dispensers is to arm you with the information that will ensure you get the best possible result for your prescription and there are some key things to keep in mind.

Make sure you are selecting a frame that your lenses work with. High prescription lens wearers will already be familiar with this but sometimes, lenses have limitations and it’s always good to ask whether or not the lenses you need will work with the frame you like.
Face shape matters but so does personal preference. Gone are the days of “round faces are only allowed to wear square frames” and manufacturers are making all kinds of shapes in both larger and smaller sizes to suit a wide variety of face shapes. Do not be afraid to try on a new style or even play a little with colour. Frames are part of expressing your personality, so our motto is: act confident and no one will question you!
The Fit:
There is a lot that we can do to ensure your frame is fitting correctly and feeling great, however, there are just some miracles that we cannot work. It is always nice to go into a store with an idea of what you like – a style, a colour, a shape etc but in the end, too big is too big and too small is too small. If in doubt, ask and find out! Often there are other options available to you to find something in the style you love, that fits well and won’t cause issues later on for you.

Fitting can also have a MASSIVE impact on the performance of your glasses and the quality of your vision. If your frame is slipping down your face, you may not be looking through the right part of the lens. Similarly, if it sits too high, too low or even too far away from your eyes, your vision can become compromised and you may not be getting the best possible result. This leads me onto the last mistake…
The Follow Up:
Oddly enough, a higher percentage of people than you think will not tell anyone when their glasses don’t work the way they want them to. In the vast majority of cases, it’s a simple fix that can be sorted out in 10 minutes or less, but we cannot fix what we do not know.
At Eyecare Plus Karalee, we have warranties in place to provide you with peace of mind, ensuring you have the very best product possible on your face!

Never be afraid to let someone know if your glasses pinch, feel funny or don’t work properly. Problem solving your issues with your glasses is one of the things we do best (Even if you didn’t get your glasses from us!) and we are always more than happy to help. At the end of the day, we want your glasses to look good, feel good and help you see better.
